The Career Garden: Getting ready for the energy transition and career opportunities

At De Beroepentuin, we are committed to offering 10 candidates with a considerable distance to the labor market valuable training at MBO1 level, with the aim of increasing their chances of paid work or further education at MBO level 2.

Our candidates are various groups with multiple problems, including ex-prisoners, status holders and long-term social assistance recipients. We offer them an intensive program of approximately 12 weeks, in which they obtain a certificate at MBO 1 level and a VCA diploma.

How does this work?

In addition to the professional training, our candidates are intensively guided by our coaches in the areas of employee skills, social skills, cooperation and self-management. Both individual and group guidance are discussed. We pay attention to various topics, such as language skills, debt management, budgeting, communication skills, conflict management, employee skills and understanding the Dutch/Rotterdam system and the relevant authorities, so that they can find their way independently.

To increase the chance of success, candidates start the first two weeks with an orientation phase, during which they can try out different professions that we offer. This way they can make the right choice and our teachers can make a good assessment of the candidate's suitability for the desired profession.
